Radical politician Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr. and his network of organizations have been accused of racketeering and fraud in a federal suit by a New Jersey bank that contends it was bilked of hundreds of thousands of dollars through unauthorized credit card charges. First Fidelity Bank was the bank used by LaRouche’s political campaign committees in 1984 to make deposits of its credit card charges from individuals around the country, until the bank closed the accounts because of the large number of contested charges. Organizations tied to LaRouche have been the object of a federal grand jury investigation in Boston, where prosecutors have said they are investigating a massive pattern of credit card fraud.
