Clint Eastwood says he has made a minor change in the movie “Heartbreak Ridge,” a film that upset Army veterans because it portrayed a Marine as a hero in the Korean War battle of the same name. Eastwood, an Army veteran, said in Carmel that he made the change after discussing the matter with Hal Barker, who is writing a book about Heartbreak Ridge, scene of one in a series of battles for control of Korean high ground. The change, said Eastwood, who is producing and acting in the film, “satisfies the 23rd Infantry, which fought so well in that battle.” Some veterans of that regiment had criticized the movie, saying that the battle was fought by the Army, not the Marines.
