5 Named to Promotional Panel in W. Hollywood

Five prominent persons have been named by the West Hollywood City Council to the board of a nonprofit corporation created to strengthen the city’s image.

The corporation, funded by a $400,000 council grant, will promote the city as a center for restaurants, shops, hotels and the design and entertainment industries over the next 18 months.

The appointees are Pacific Design Center Executive Director Murray Feldman, commercial real estate broker Ronald Kates, Sunset Marquis hotel executive George Rosenthal, designer Phyllis Morris and city Rent Stabilization Commissioner Douglas Routh.

Other board members are Councilman Alan Viterbi, city Economic Development Coordinator Deborah Potter and still-unchosen representatives from the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the West Hollywood Community Alliance.

Working under the board is a 15-member advisory committee. Ten members have already been selected: Lester Burg, Jack Foreman, Ken Fritz, Bill Gazzari, Jim Grossfeld, Dennis Holt, Huell Howser, Del Martinez, Lisa Powell and Richard Rosenzweig.
