A man suspected of selling drugs on a Lennox street was shot and wounded by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy who believed that the man was reaching for a gun, authorities said. Deputy Drew Basey said Juan Luna, 22, was leaning into the window of a car stopped in the 10600 block of Inglewood Avenue when he was approached by two deputies. When Luna reached toward his waist, one of the deputies fired a shot that struck him in the right buttock, Basey said. Luna did not have a weapon but was in possession of narcotics, Basey said. Luna was in stable condition in the County-USC Medical Center jail ward, where he was being held on a charge of possessing narcotics. The name of the deputy who fired the shot was not disclosed.
