The University of Miami ruled senior linebacker Winston Moss ineligible because he has been using a car leased by a school employee. But no actions will be taken against three other Hurricane players who drive cars leased from a registered sports agent.
The university’s decision was announced by Athletic Director Sam Jankovich at a news conference, less than 24 hours after he and the school’s legal counsel had met with National Collegiate Athletic Assn. investigators on the subject.
The school will notify the NCAA of its decision and ask for an official ruling on the length of Moss’ suspension. Jankovich said the violation was inadvertent.
