San Diego Roundup : Super Stock Series Resumes Saturday

Lakeside’s Mike Hagerman and Mark Norris and La Mesa’s Mark Meech will continue their battle for the Winston Racing Series super stocks lead Saturday night at Cajon Speedway.

Hagerman has accumulated 344 points and seven wins in 16 rounds of racing at Cajon this season. Norris, who earned his third victory last week, has 300 points and Meech has two wins and 282 points.

Qualifying begins at 6 p.m. with the main events starting at 7:30.

Twenty-four teams will compete Saturday and Sunday in Southern California’s largest amateur flag football tournament at Robb Field in Oceanside. The tournament, which will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, will feature teams from California and Arizona and some West Coast military teams.

The San Diego yacht club will host the prestigious Adams Cup women’s national yacht competition Aug. 21-24. It will be the first time the 62-year-old event will be offered in California and the second time it has been on the West Coast.
