A Thoughtless Remark--and a Great Disservice
In Rich Roberts’ article about Eric Dickerson’s stand on narcotics, Roberts quotes Dickerson on law enforcement officers: “They would love to catch me at a party with drugs, or somebody like Marcus (Allen of the Raiders), somebody they could get promoted on.”
Dickerson is great at the games he plays and his stand on narcotics is commendable. But, besides doing a great disservice to police officers with his thoughtless remark, he overestimates the value of his name in the civil service promotional process.
