Gulls Hit 3 Homers but Lose to Reno

Despite a three home-run barrage, including two by Omar Malave, the Ventura County Gulls failed to reverse their downward turn, dropping a California League game to the Reno Padres on Friday night, 5-4, in Reno.
Malave hit solo home runs in the first and fifth innings, and Geronimo Berroa added a two-run shot in the third but the Gulls found themselves tied at 4 going into the bottom of the seventh.
