AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: There are a lot of rock giants who’ve we’ve been dying to see stagger out of retirement, but how’s this for a surprise: Right-wing talk-show host Wally George, who once performed as Wally George & the Hollywood Twisters, is returning to the concert stage next month with a new rock act. He’ll play the Palomino Sept. 23, backed by a surf-rock ensemble called the Sound Wave. “I haven’t been on stage in more than 20 years,” said George, who’s best known for attacking rock lyrics and liberals on his syndicated TV show, “The Hot Seat.” “I’ll have a new look, too. I’m going to dress more contemporary--I’ll probably wear an open shirt and a flashy jacket.” And you can bet George won’t be singing any Ramones songs either. He said his set of material will include such songs as “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.,” “It’s Better in the U.S.A.,” “What I Like About You” and “Surfin’ U.S.A.” (Gee, do we detect a theme here?).
