The second Gay Games, an international sports event for homosexuals held in San Francisco, drew athletes from 37 states and 16 foreign countries, according to its sponsors. Described as the largest international gay event ever held, about 3,500 athletes participated in 17 sports. The next Gay Games, organizers said, will be held in 1990 in Vancouver, Canada.
