Austrian Families Offer to Adopt AIDS Baby
Associated Press
LINZ, Austria —
Twenty families have offered to adopt a 6-month-old baby boy infected with AIDS, the municipal Youth Bureau reported Monday.
Austrian Television and newspapers had reported the case of the unidentified--and for some months unwanted--baby whose mother had given him up for adoption.
Doctors said the boy’s health will not be in danger until he reaches adolescence, when his acquired immune deficiency syndrome may become virulent. The disease was apparently passed to the baby by his mother.
