Gorbachev Goes on Vacation, Tass Says

MOSCOW — Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev has left Moscow for a summer vacation, the Tass news agency reported Tuesday.
Tass did not say where the 55-year-old leader will spend his holiday, or how long he will be away from the Soviet capital. The news agency traditionally announces when the Communist Party’s general secretary goes on summer holiday. Such vacations usually last about one month.
