Redondo Beach : Council Agenda Altered

Share

The City Council voted 4 to 0 this week to reschedule audience participation for the early part of its agenda, in response to requests from residents at recent meetings.

Several residents have complained that the public must wait until the end of the often lengthy meetings to speak, and that many people become discouraged and leave. Council meetings often continue past 11 p.m.

The council agreed, in concept, to end future meetings by 11 p.m.

Eva Snow, director of the South Bay Hospital District and wife of Councilman Archie Snow, criticized the council and Mayor Barbara J. Doerr this week for their continual “bickering.” Because of it, she said, “Redondo is the laughingstock” of the area.
