Former astronaut James Irwin shrugged off recent heart trouble today and said he will fly over Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey to resume his five-year hunt for Noah’s Ark.

Irwin, who walked on the moon in 1971 during the U.S. Apollo-15 space mission, said “God does not want me to die. He gave me a chance to find Noah’s Ark.” In five climbs in the last five years, he has once been badly hurt in a fall, dogged by heart trouble, upstaged by a rival Ark hunter and was once barred from the mountain following attacks by rebel Kurds.
