How to Apply for Your Very Own Grant
To apply for any California Arts Council grant, obtain a council Guide to Programs, which includes a description of all council grant programs and eligibility requirements, plus an application request form.
The guide for fiscal year 1987-88 grants will be available in late October from the council’s offices at 6150 Van Nuys Blvd., Room 230, Van Nuys 94101, (818) 901-5003 or (213) 873-5420, or 1901 Broadway, Suite A, Sacramento 95818, (916) 445-1530.
Those who qualify to apply for Arts Council grants are: performing and exhibiting arts organizations with a tax-exempt, 501 C3 status (with one grant program exception); any organization that uses arts programming as an integral part of its operations, including school districts and residential social institutions, and, in limited circumstances, some individual artists.
Grant awards range from about $1,000 to $300,000. Most grants require matching funds.
