‘Sick and Tired’ Letter Writers

Steve Allen (Letters, Aug. 19) says he is sick and tired of all the sick and tired letter writers and longs for those who were just “Thoroughly Disgusted” or who “Viewed With Alarm.” I can go one better: How about Infuriated? That’s what I have been since Jan. 20, 1981.

Fury is a very energizing state of being. It keeps the mind and soul’s juices flowing. It keeps one paying attention to what is going on in the country and the world. It inspires one to great heights of outraged prose on letters to the editor pages. It keeps one feeling alive.

Now if George Bush will only be elected in 1988.
