‘DISCOVER’ SET FOR NEW PBS SEASON

Topics ranging from the biomechanics of ice skating to the mysteries of how ancient Incas cut and transported giant blocks of stone will be covered on the new season of “Discover: The World of Science,” returning to PBS Oct. 8.

Other stories during the season will look at life inside a school of fish, cover how scientists determine if an unborn baby has cystic fibrosis, update the world of robotics and report on NASA’s research flight simulator used to investigate how air crews will react under pressure.
