The naked body of an unidentified woman was found Monday afternoon near Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad. The county coroner’s office said the body was found by two young children playing in a brushy area just south of Poppy Lane.
A coroner’s spokesman said the woman, who appeared to have been dead for at least one day, had brown hair, was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed about 120 pounds.
No identification was found near the body, and the cause and place of death were also unclear, the spokesman said.
