Gov. Ricardo J. Bordallo, whose campaign to become Guam’s first incumbent governor to win re-election was marred by an indictment, easily won the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Bordallo, 58, was named in 11 counts in an indictment Wednesday charging him with influence peddling and illegal campaign contributions. In the voting, Bordallo and Lt. Gov. Edward D. Reyes received 10,493 votes, while Legislature Speaker Carl T. C. Gutierrez and his running mate, Guam Sen. John Aguon, had 5,995 votes. Joseph Ada and running mate Frank Blas won the Republican gubernatorial race.
