British Caledonian Airways will begin daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and London’s Gatwick airport on Oct. 1. In previous years the airline had cut back flights during the fall and winter.

Korea’s current 15-day visa-free period for U.S. visitors is being extended to 30 days through Oct. 15. The extension is designed primarily to accommodate arrivals during the 10th Asian Games in Seoul. Check with the Korean Consulate, 5455 Wilshire Blvd., for visa information.

“European Grand Tour,” travelogue series by Julius Jacyna, will be offered by the Torrance Adult School on four consecutive Thursdays beginning Sept. 18. The slide/lecture shows will be at 7 p.m. in Room 201 of the Wright Adult Education Center, 3915 Spencer St., Torrance. Cost is $8 for all four and $4 for senior citizens.
