LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from Sept. 9, 1986
Peter C. Goldmark Jr. has been named a group vice president of Times Mirror Co., Los Angeles, with responsibility for five Eastern newspapers.
He joined the company a year ago as deputy to Times Mirror Senior Vice President David Laventhol. Goldmark will continue to be based at Times Mirror’s New York corporate office.
The publishers of Newsday; the Hartford Courant; the Morning Call of Allentown, Pa.; the Advocate of Stamford, Conn., and Greenwich Time, also in Connecticut, will report to Goldmark. Goldmark will report to Laventhol.
Goldmark previously was executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He also has served as executive assistant to former mayor of New York City John Lindsay, as director of the budget for New York State and as secretary of human services for Massachusetts.
