Transportation approved two bids for Jet America.
According to Alaska Air Group, the U.S. Department of Transportation said an acquisition of Jet America by either Alaska Air Group or Delta Air Lines would raise no significant competitive problems. Alaska Air Group, which bid $4.50 a share for the Long Beach-based airline, said previously that it wouldn’t buy stock from shareholders until it received the agency’s approval. Delta has bid $4.25 a share for Jet America.
