Jewish Committee Activist Selected for Rights Panel

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan said Wednesday he has selected Murray Friedman, a veteran civil rights activist with the American Jewish Committee, as the new vice chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Friedman, 59, was named to succeed Morris Abram, who resigned earlier this year.
