West Hollywood : Renters Eligible for Rebates

A recent City Council decision has made many low-income elderly and disabled tenants eligible for rebates on monthly rental surcharges from the city’s Rent Stabilization Department.

Tenants who are disabled or over age 62 are eligible for a rebate if their annual household incomes are $10,000 or less (one wage earner) or $11,500 or less (two wage earners).

Those who qualify will receive a $48 refund of the surcharge that tenants pay landlords over the year. Eligible tenants may file an application at any time. Applications are available from the city’s Department of Rent Stabilization, 8611 Santa Monica Blvd.
