Episcopalians to Elect a New Bishop in June
The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles is expected to convene next June to elect a successor to Bishop Robert C. Rusack, who died in July.
By the time of the annual diocesan convention Dec. 5-6 at the Los Angeles Hilton, a nominating committee of 21 persons will have been selected, said Ruth Nicastro, diocesan communications officer. Nicastro said the committee will have the results from a survey of 150 parishes, scheduled for this fall, to help it define what issues are facing Episcopalians in Southern California.
Oliver B. Garver Jr. is serving as interim bishop of the diocese.
