Singer Mary Wells says a well-dressed couple she assumed to be fans forced her and her family to travel with them on a 48-hour cross-country odyssey from Michigan to California, apparently in hopes of persuading her to record a song. The singer, who recorded the hit “My Guy” in the 1960s, said she has not decided whether to file a police report about the kidnaping. She said the couple, identified only as Allison and Jim, lured her, her husband and their 2 1/2-month-old daughter into an automobile at the Saginaw, Mich., airport, then freed them unharmed two days later in Mojave, 70 miles north of Los Angeles. Michigan state police said no investigation is planned.
