Telephone service in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which had been knocked out by a fire at the phone company’s headquarters, was restored for most residents and complete restoration was expected by Monday, said Pedro Gallarza, president of the Puerto Rico Telephone Co. The fire knocked out service for most of historic old San Juan, including the governor’s mansion, and about 45,000 residents. Gallarza said the cause of the $2-million fire is being investigated.
