Rancho P.V. : Manager to Start Early
Dennis Wayne McDuffie, the new city manager, will report to work Monday, several weeks earlier than expected. Currently the city manager of Delano, an agricultural community north of Bakersfield, McDuffie was not expected to assume his duties until early October, when his old contract expired.
The Delano City Council has replaced McDuffie with a parks and recreation director familiar with the city, allowing McDuffie to come earlier, said Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Douglas Hinchliffe.
McDuffie replaces Donald Guluzzy, who left Aug. 8 to become general manager of the San Mateo County harbor District.
