Brazilian soccer star Zico announced in Rio de Janeiro that he will undergo knee surgery in the United States as a last recourse to avoid ending his playing career.
The ace midfielder of Rio’s Flamengo club and the Brazilian national team will go to Columbus, Ga., where orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrew will operate on damaged ligaments in Zico’s left knee.
