Motorist Killed in Head-On Crash
A man was killed Thursday night when his car was struck head-on in Van Nuys by a car driven by a driver suspected of being drunk, Los Angeles police said.
The apparently drunk driver was driving south on Hayvenhurst Avenue north of Sherman Way at 7:40 p.m. when he crossed the center line and struck the victim’s car, said Sgt. Dennis Zine.
He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and was being held at Van Nuys Jail, Zine said.
Identities of the victim and suspect had not been released late Thursday, pending notification of relatives.
