A hearse was stolen during a Stockton funeral procession Friday, but police caught up with it, retrieved the casket and rushed it in a replacement hearse to the cemetery for a slightly delayed service. Raymond Allston, who had been running alongside the procession, climbed inside, and when the driver and an assistant abandoned the hearse, jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off. Police rammed the hearse, which then hit a parked car. Allston, 21, was being held for investigation of vehicle theft.
