French peacekeeping troops, under persistent attack in recent weeks, evacuated six positions in southern Lebanon, U.N. sources said. The evacuation near Tyre in southern Lebanon came a day after five French soldiers were wounded, two seriously, when their bunker was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. The French troops, assigned to the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon, were replaced at two of the positions by Nepalese soldiers of the peacekeeping force.
