AIA Sponsors Conference at Design Center

“Focus: Professional Practice & Planning,” a four-day conference culminating with an awards presentation, is being sponsored Thursday through next Sunday at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, under the sponsorship of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Thursday highlights will include Los Angeles Planning Director Kenneth Topping giving his debut address at 8 p.m. The session will be co-sponsored by the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Planning Assn.

The “Design Awards Reception” will be held Saturday. Pre-registration is requested at the LA/AIA office at 8687 Melrose Ave., Suite M-72, by Monday, for both the conference and the design awards buffet.
