Burrell W. Hays, who recently retired as technical director of the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, has been elected a director of Comarco Inc. He becomes the eighth member of the Anaheim-based defense contractor’s board, 1filling a newly created position.
As technical director at China Lake, Hays was the top-ranked civilian at the naval base, which accounts for about 25% of Comarco’s business, according to Don Bailey, vice president of corporate development.
However, as technical director, Hays was “pretty far up the chain of command” and had no direct involvement in the contracts the Navy awarded to Comarco, Bailey said. As previously reported, Comarco had net earnings of $1.1 million on revenues of $37.3 million for the fiscal first-half, ended July 31.
