LONG BEACH : Agency to Help Fund Dance

Share

Redevelopment Agency directors have approved spending $10,000 on a 1950s-style Halloween Dance at the amphitheater on the downtown Promenade.

The early-evening costume dance, a $48,000 culmination of Long Beach’s Arts Month, is also supported by the Recreation Department and the Public Corporation for the Arts, city officials said.

“Our major emphasis right now is to breathe more life into the downtown to round out redevelopment,” said Roger Anderman, executive director of the Redevelopment Agency. “. . . This will bring more people downtown.”
