Driver Fired for Losing Half of Bus to Overpass
Associated Press
BIRMINGHAM, England —
A bus driver was fired Wednesday for losing the top of his doubledecker bus when it passed under a railway bridge.
Donald Randall was sacked for “gross misconduct” after losing his appeal to a disciplinary hearing by the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive.
Randall was suspended last week after the top deck of his 14-foot 6-inch bus was ripped off as he drove under a railway bridge with a 14-foot clearance.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time.
