Police pressed their search for a former convict accused of killing three people, but the FBI issued a nationwide alert on the possibility that he had eluded the dragnet around Wright City, Mo. Michael W. Jackson, 41, had not been seen since Monday, when he wrecked a stolen car after a shoot-out with police in eastern Missouri. Jackson, a former mental patient who police said may have been wounded in the shoot-out, took off earlier Monday on a three-state crime spree.
