A lone gunman, about 25 years old, escaped Saturday afternoon with about $360 in cash and clothing from Miller’s Outpost at 16185 Brookhurst St., Police Lt. Rod Gillman said.
Gillman said the man, holding about $60 worth of clothing, approached a clerk, pointed a revolver and demanded money. He fled with the clothes and cash.
He was described as thin, about 5 feet, ll inches tall, with a mustache and a one-inch cut under his left eye. He fled in a pickup truck that had been reported stolen Friday in Stanton, Gillman said.
Earlier Saturday, the same stolen pickup truck was used by two men in an armed robbery in Westminster, according to Westminster Police Lt. Steve Martinez. Martinez said that an armed man held up Tily’s clothing store, 15589 Brookhurst St. at 12:27 p.m. and escaped with about $200. One of the robbers matches the description of the man who later held up the Miller’s Outpost, Martinez said.
