Davidia Hanover of the United States set a world trotting record for mares en route to winning Finland’s most prestigious trotting race, the Finlandia, at the Vermo Racetrack in Helsinki.
The 4-year-old, owned by Hans Enggren and trained by Per Ericsson, was timed in 1:12.8 over the kilometer in a qualifying heat. The previous record of 1:13.0 was held by U.S. trotting mares Selena Lobell, Armbro Devonan and Grades Singing.
