ANTI-DRUG MOVIE, TV SHOWS CITED

Two TV programs and one film have been honored with 1986 Scott Newman Drug Abuse Awards sponsored by the Motion Picture Assn. of America and the Associates for Troubled Children. The awards are given for shows that have an anti-drug message.

The award for the outstanding TV programming for children went to Rick Hawkins, writer of “Just Say No,” an episode of “Punky Brewster,” while the TV news feature/documentary prize was won by Ted Koppel and Jed Duvall for an “ABC News Nightline” program on “America Hooked on Drugs.”

The two TV awards carried $10,000 prizes.

Anna Hamilton Phelan received an honorary award for her screenplay for “Mask.”

The winners will be recognized Nov. 8 at a dinner at the Century Plaza Hotel.
