Santa Ana : Westminster : 3 Plead Not Guilty in Management Theft
A former city planning commissioner and his wife and daughter pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that they stole more than $1 million from homeowner associations through their property management firm.
Jack E. Miller, 51; his wife, Marjorie L. Miller, 47, and their daughter, Terry L. Edwards, 25, appeared before Municipal Judge William L. Mock to be arraigned on grand theft charges. After entering pleas, they were ordered to return for a hearing Nov. 12.
Mock also granted a request from Deputy Dist. Atty. Guy N. Ormes that the Millers submit handwriting samples. A defense request to allow them to make a trip to Nevada before the hearing also was granted.
The three were arrested in August after a 2 1/2-year investigation of the now-defunct Community Association Management Service by Westminster police and the district attorney’s office.
