Share

The newest addition to the family of service projects sponsored by the Episcopal Service Alliance will be formally unveiled Sunday in San Clemente.

Anchor House, the county’s newest facility for homeless families at 149 Avenida Florencia, will be officially dedicated at 2 p.m. The ESA, a nonprofit ecumenical agency, said the facility will shelter temporarily homeless families and ease them into self-sufficiency.

Surveys by the Housing Coalition of Orange County and the Capistrano Bay Area Task Force for the Homeless determined that there is a need for such shelters in South Orange County, the ESA said. Anchor House will be operated by the ESA and supported by donations from individuals, churches, private foundations and government grants.
