Washington Alters Its Statewide Capsule Ban

SEATTLE —
The Washington Pharmacy Board agreed Tuesday to modify its statewide ban on the over-the-counter sale of drugs in unsealed two-piece capsules.
The board, which had approved the ban after two cyanide poisoning deaths in the Seattle area earlier this year, agreed unanimously to exclude from the ban any two-piece capsules contained in packaging featuring at least two tamper-resistant features.
