Elimination of Hunger

World Food Day celebrates the abundance of food on the planet; there is enough to feed 1 1/2 times the current population, with the accompanying technology to increase food production in the years to come.

No one needs to be hungry anymore. We know how to maintain increased food production. We also know myriad ways to enable other people to be self-sufficient. That means people being able to grow it for themselves or to buy it, through programs like the International Fund for Agricultural Development that provide credit, seeds, tools, training--the elements of farming--or through programs, like the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, which provide low interest loans and credit without collateral.
