A Bass-led group increased its stake in Taft.
About 21.1% of Cincinnati-based Taft Broadcasting is now controlled by a group of investors led by Robert M. Bass, a member of the wealthy Fort Worth family, according to filings at the SEC. One investment banking source said that another investor--American Financial, headed by Cincinnati financier Carl H. Lindner--is believed to have increased its Taft holdings as well, to about 11%. The price of Taft shares closed at $118.25, up $4.25 on the New York Stock Exchange.
