An El Cajon woman was taken into custody Friday by San Diego County sheriff’s child abuse detectives on suspicion of molesting several girls in East County over the past two years.
The suspect, Lori Elizabeth Bartz, 23, allegedly used death threats against the victims’ families as a way to intimidate the victims, a sheriff’s spokesman said. The girls range in age from 10 to 15, and the molestations occurred in several locations in La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lakeside, and Santee.
The suspect used the alias Cappeletti and told the victims that she came from a large family in Italy to gain their trust, the spokesman said.
It is believed there are more victims, and if anyone has information, they are asked to contact Detective Ken Williams of the Sheriff’s Department.
