Picking Up the Trash
How many residents here in Newport Beach remember that we had trash pickup twice a week until five or six years ago? You could have lunch on your patio without swatting flies throughout the meal. That was back when the city had enough money to serve residents, before the pro-growth City Council took over.
Now, the city has enough money to sue residents in Corona del Mar, Mariners, Eastbluff and Westcliff. Now the city has enough money to advertise, nationwide, Newport Center’s high-rise hotels. Who do the present council majority and administrators work for? It is not the residents!
