County Agency to Offer Free Flu Shots

Free influenza immunization shots are offered by the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services at the following dates and locations:

- Oct. 15, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Burke Health Center, 2509 W. Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.

- Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to noon, Santa Monica Red Cross, 1450 11th St., Santa Monica.

- Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saint John’s Hospital, Lion’s Eye Institute, 1328 22nd St., Santa Monica.

- Oct. 18, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Medipace Immediate Care Medical Clinic, 1990 Westwood Blvd.

- Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to noon, Malibu Health Fair, 23525 W. Civic Center Way, Malibu.

- Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to noon, Roxbury Park, 471 S. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills.

- Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to noon, Felicia Mahood Senior Citizens Center, 11338 Santa Monica Blvd.

- Oct. 22, 9 a.m. to noon, Western Federal Savings & Loan Assn., 1210 4th St., Santa Monica.

- Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wilshire Urgent Care, 2424 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica.

- Oct. 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Century City Hospital, Center for Geriatric Health, 2070 Century Park East, Century City.

- Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital, 4650 Lincoln Blvd., Marina del Rey.

- Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Culver City Veterans’ Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave., Culver City.

- Oct. 29, 9 a.m. to noon, Beverly Hills Medical Center, Emergency Department, 1177 S. Beverly Drive, West Los Angeles.

- Oct. 30, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Israel Levin Center, 201 Ocean Front Walk, Venice.

- Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., General Medical Center, 9696 Culver Blvd., No. 101, Culver City.

The health department recommends annual flu shots for all people over 55 and anyone with chronic heart, lung or kidney disease or certain other chronic conditions.

Anyone who is allergic to eggs or has a serious illness should check with his physician before receiving the flu vaccine.
