Public Joggers

Regarding the letter from Ginny King (Sept. 27), in which she defends jogging on the street between 4:30 and 4:45 a.m.:

Can she, or anyone, tell me why jogging has to be done on public streets in order to be effective? I’m certain that asphalt and concrete are hard on the feet and legs when running, and parks or back yards would be just as healthy for purposes of exercising.

A little voice inside me whispers “exhibitionists” when I see the public joggers.
