New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson and Johnson, worldwide manufacturer of health-care products, said that gains by its consumer and pharmaceutical divisions contributed to its higher third-quarter profit and sales. The firm also said that sales by its international subsidiaries were $2.22 billion for the first nine months of 1986, compared to $1.77 billion for the same period a year ago, an increase of 25.1%. The lower value of the dollar in the period, compared to the same period a year earlier, added $249 million to the first nine months’ sales, the company added.
